Order Policies of Ivy and Lace Bake Shop
If you are reading this page, that means you are at least considering ordering a cake from us, and for that, we thank you! We love our job. Exceeding your expectations is our favorite part and why we do what we do! That said, due to the high caliber, perishable and time consuming nature of our custom work, we have some policies in place.
Placing an order.
Orders are reserved on a first come first serve basis. As soon as you know the date of your event, contact us. We are a small artisan cake shop and although we try our best to accommodate everyone, we tend to book up fast! We have a 7 day minimum notice requirement for all custom orders. Certain times of year that will extend longer. Check home page before ordering. We do try to have a couple smaller cakes in the case for last minute needs!
Delivery must be requested upon the start of the order process. We have limited spaces for delivery and are filled at a first come first serve basis. Once we are full, then only in store pick up will be available.
Total Price of your order depends on the following:
Number of Servings
Complexity of design
Specialty flavor combinations
Delivery and set up time. (if delivering)
Having this info ready when you place an order will ensure an an accurate and immediate quote
Tastings/one on one consultations.
We offer two difference types of dessert tastings.
To go boxes: 4 flavors picked up at the bakery during a predetermined time: $15
In person Consult Tasting: 4 samples, 30 minutes: $25
If you end up booking with us, this payment counts towards your deposit!
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at time of order placement to reserve your spot on the calendar. This payment goes towards the balance of your order.
***For any delivery order, balance in full is due one week before order is due. We are busy making lovely cakes here and will not come looking for the balance, but rather will assume you’ve changed your mind, and cancel the order.
We accept orders over the phone and take all major credit cards.
Cake Pick up
All cakes must be picked up during normal business hours (closed Mondays, 8-3 Tuesday - Saturdays, 8-12 Sundays).
A minimum delivery fee of $20 is charged for all cakes in the immediate areas surrounding the bakery. Beyond that, there is a $50 fee to all points within a 30-45 minute radius (this includes Providence) and $75 for areas 45-90 minutes away (think Newport) Beyond that, fees will be discussed on a case by case basis.
Things happen, and you might have to cancel your order.
Cancelations that happen from date of order placement, to 7 days prior, We can refund you your money minus the 25% deposit, which is non-refundable.
Cancelations that happen within 7 days of due date: 50% refund is available.
Should you miss your pick up date, and not let us know beforehand, no refund is available.
Only under certain circumstances do we offer refunds for or custom orders.
If we fail to deliver your order, or do not have your cake on the day of pick up, we will refund your money.
If upon pick up or delivery, the cakes the wrong cake flavor or design as put forth in the contract signed during the order writing process, we will refund your money.
If, upon trying the cake, that a major malfunction is discovered, then the cake should be returned to the shop. If we discover that something indeed has happened to the quality of our cake then we will refund your money. You must return the complete order.
We are not liable for any damage that happens once a cake is picked up or accepted at delivery venue.
NOTE* Cake flavor and texture of cakes that are baked correctly are subjective. We do not use mixes of any kind; making everything from scratch. Our cakes are very moist and not as light as some cakes, especially those that come from many popular mixes. Refund requests for a properly baked cake due to flavor and texture after the cake as been picked up will not be honored. Keep in mind that the texture of the cake can change if left out in extreme weather (think summer weddings outside…) Please understand that we can not control what happens to your cake if left in certain conditions after it leaves our care.
If for some reason you have to cancel your cake, your payments made are nonrefundable, though they can be put towards another order!
We do not have dedicated equipment to produce allergen free desserts so it is important to know that all sweets made in our kitchen have possible exposure to milk, nuts, wheat and soy even if the recipe we are using does not.
